When it comes to cleaning your hardwood floors Bissell makes a couple of steamers that might be worth your researching effort. The Bissell Hardwood floor steamer that is currently sold on Amazon shows a list price of $99.99 but they have an agreement with the manufacturer that they will not show you the actual price unless another step is taken by the consumer.  That step is simply to add it to your shopping cart and then you will see the actual price that Amazon sells it for.

1867-7 Bissell Hardwood floor steamer

It is one of the first steam mops on the market. However since that time many new steam mops have hit the market that consumers enjoy more.

If you are going to use this on hardwood floors make sure these floors are sealed because it will leave water behind as you are mopping.

Reviews of the 1867-7 have been mainly positive but there are two models that are worth your time and effort to research.

Alternatives to the Bissell Hardwood Floor Steamer

One is the Shark by Europro.  It is a lightweight product and some think it might be a little flimsy for long term use. We own one and really like that fact that zero water is left on our hardwood floors and it does a good job of cleaning, especially with the microfiber pad.

The H20flo Steam Mop Floor Cleaner is another hardwood floor cleaner that has received very positive reviews.  We have not used this personally but for the price it’s hard not to give it a try. Just remember steam cleaners have their own quirks to using them and once you figure out the proper way to use them, cleaning your hardwood floors is fun once again.

Some hardwood floor steams do have a built in filter to help keep your water clean and keep your steamer functioning for many years.  A lot of steamers will highly recommend using distilled water and that is a good idea because of the deposits some tap water can leave behind.

Two other factors that might help you pick the right hardfloor steamer for you is:

  • length of cord (can it reach across the room)
  • quantity of holding tank (how much water will it hold and how long will that water last)
